Brian Harman

_______

Conference 7 Director

Brian Harman graduated from Floyd County High School in 1995 and went on to play college basketball at Lynchburg College, now the University of Lynchburg, where he graduated with a BA in Business Administration and minor in Child Development in 1999.

Coach Harman started coaching middle school girls, and served as the Assistant Varsity Boys coach at Floyd County High School in the fall of 1999, and continued this for 3 years until girls and boys went to the same season.  Brian was hired in 2002 to coach the Varsity Boys Basketball team at Floyd County High School, and he continues in this role today.

Brian married his wife Desirae in 2000.  Sadly, Brian and Desirae lost their oldest child, Chance, at the age of 4 to a brain tumor in 2007.  After his passing they founded the Chance Harman Memorial Fund, which has been successful in donation of money back to Duke University Medical Center for brain tumor research in children, and also has funded several local scholarships.  Most of the money raised comes from our annual event the Chance Harman Classic.

We have been blessed with 3 other children; Destiny, a sophomore at USC Aiken who plays basketball and is studying nursing, Chaycen, a freshman at Floyd County High School, and Keenan,  a 7th grader at Willis Elementary School
